Usually a small tree, with a short trunk and
branches forming a shallow, broad crown, 15'-20' high with a trunk diameter of
6", it has been known to reach 30' in Pennsylvania. Prized for its bright
rose-colored flowers in early spring. Wild populations are limited to the southern
half of the Commonwealth, but Redbud is successfully cultivated further north.
