Another Great Encampment!
With Cook Forest Online as a leading sponsor, on June 9th and 10th Cook Forest once again hosted the French and Indian War Encampment, a series of living history events depicting life during the French & Indian War.
Highlights for 2007 included children’s programs, woodland natives, cannon and musket firing demonstrations, sutler camp, council and trading events, live tactical engagements, nationally renowned living historians, and French & Indian War era painters.
Visitors walked along the Black Bear Trail by the Sawmill Center during open camp hours to view over 100 British, Colonial, French, and Native American re-enactors as they portray lifestyles of the 18th century.
